Olivia Wu
About
Olivia is a MSc student in the Department of Human Nutrition and Faculty of Land and Food Systems. Her research focuses on bridging sustainable eating patterns and medical nutrition therapy for the management of type 2 diabetes. She is passionate about integrating planetary health and healthcare systems. She aspires for clinical dietetics to consider not only improving human health, but also facilitating transitions to more ecologically sustainable and just food systems.
She holds a BSc in Nutritional Sciences (Dietetics) from McGill University. Prior to coming to UBC, she worked as a clinical dietitian and certified diabetes educator in an acute care hospital and an outpatient endocrinology clinic in Montreal, Québec. She has develop an expertise in dietary behavior change through working with individuals living with diverse disease states from differing age groups, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
