Jennifer’s research program is focused on health equity in the context of climate change. Her projects explore the impact of climate-related weather events on older people, people with lifelong disabilities, and their formal and informal care partners. She is also examining climate readiness in the long-term care home sector, with the goal of developing a user-friendly climate resilience toolkit. Jennifer’s research is characterized by community engagement. Organizations that partner on her research include: the Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care, the Canadian Coalition for Seniors’ Mental Health, BC Care Providers Association, and the Independent Long-term Care Councils Association of BC. Her research teams include leaders from across British Columbia’s health authorities and people with lived experience.
