About

My name is Annika Ord and I am a master’s student in Geography at UBC helping to coordinate the Climate Justice Study Collective. I’m originally from Southeast Alaska and was working as a commercial fisherman, glacier educator and researcher, wildlife biologist, and place-based storyteller before returning to school. My research at UBC seeks to learn from place based knowledge of glacier retreat and landscape change in Southeast Alaska and support local climate concerns through community engaged initiatives.
