The CCJ is thrilled to welcome Shannon Daub, Senior Research Manager, as the newest addition to its leadership team!
Shannon Daub (she/they) is a leader, researcher and strategist who has worked at the intersection of ideas and action for more than 25 years. Shannon was a founding staff member with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives BC Office, helping to build the organization over two decades including five years as its Director. During that time, she co-directed the Corporate Mapping Project alongside Bill Carroll from the University of Victoria. A SSHRC-funded partnership, the Corporate Mapping Project investigated the role and power of the fossil fuel industry in obstructing progress on climate change, looking at the interrelated realms of political, economic, cultural and colonial power.
“Shannon Daub is a deeply trusted and admired figure in the climate justice policy space, having co-led several landmark research projects and served as Director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternative’s BC office. We could not be more delighted to welcome Shannon to the CCJ’s leadership team and I personally have no doubt that her vision, rigour and strategic thinking will help us reach a new level of impact at this pivotal moment for our province and planet.” – Naomi Klein, CCJ Co-Director, Public Engagement
Most recently Shannon served as Interim Executive Director with West Coast LEAF, an organization fighting for gender justice through litigation, law reform and public legal education. Shannon has been involved as a volunteer with many organizations, including the Wilderness Committee, BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, Living Wage BC, CCEC Credit Union and the Vancouver Public Library among others.
