About

Katie is a campaign strategist & power-building whiz of Irish descent. She grew up on the ancestral and contemporary territory of the Lenape, Miami, Ottawa, Seneca, Cherokee, Ojibwa, and Wyandot peoples. Prior to joining the CCJ, Katie spent well over 15 years as a movement builder, organizer, trainer, and coach in the climate justice movement. She has worked behind the scenes to orchestrate the divestment of dozens of Universities and New York City from Fossil Fuels. She is one of the architects of Sunrise Movement, a youth-led organization that has popularized the Green New Deal. She has also worked with leaders to build movement organizations for black liberation and reparations, immigrant rights, reproductive justice, ending the occupation of Palestine, and more. When not at the CCJ, she can be found reading, trail-running or mountain-biking with her puppy Murphy, or drinking a good glass of natural wine. Katie strives to be a good guest while living and working on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Peoples.
