CCJ Says Farewell to Research Manager, Sara Nelson

It’s with mixed emotions that we announce Sara Nelson is moving on from her role as Senior Research Manager at the Centre for Climate Justice. While we are deeply saddened to see her go, we are also excited to cheer her on as she embarks on her next chapter!

Sara joined the CCJ in February 2022, and from day one, she played a pivotal role in shaping and building this organization into what it is today. Her leadership, unwavering commitment, and deep passion for climate justice have been integral to the growth and success of our work. There truly would not be a CCJ without Sara’s dedicated leadership and spirit.

Sara, thank you for everything you’ve given to the CCJ family. You will be missed, but we are excited to see where your journey takes you next. On behalf of the entire team, we wish you all the best in your next steps. Keep pushing for justice, and know that you’ll always have our support!

With gratitude and excitement,
The Centre for Climate Justice Team

“It has been an incredible three years at the CCJ, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to help build this Centre. I will truly be missing my team and colleagues here. I'm excited to share that I'll be moving to a new position as Climate Foresight Lead at the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, starting mid-January, where I'll be helping to build a new Climate Foresight program to catalyze cross-sectoral, collaborative climate research in BC. Best of all, I'll get to stay in touch with the research community here at UBC in that new capacity.”

If you need to reach Sara, you are requested to reach out via LinkedIn or connect with her at PICS.
